Now days every one filling online application form for online examination, entrance exam, Government Job etc mostly all organization, government authority, SSC, UPSC, UPPSC, IBPS, Railway RRB, RRC , banks inviting online application form for various posts / job and examination. in this case when we start filling online application form most of the students / competitor who are not familiar with computer are facing a lot of problem when online website ask to upload profile image. When candidates start uploading scanned image online form showing error that reduce file size of the image. Then we will try to solve your problem how to reduce size of the image

What is Size of Image?

A scanned image from scanner is called a FILE and file size is Measured in KB or MB.

1 MB  = 1024 KB

Average scanned image size = 1 mb to 2 mb

Then here is a big question how to convert a 2 MB size into 20 KB

Tutorial for Reducing the file size without using PhotoShop or any other image processing software

1 : first of all scan the image file

2 : open this file

3: after opening file in Image viewer just click of Maximize Button and resize it equal to a passport photograph

4: then click PRINT SCREEN Button on keyboard (which is above of the cursor / navigation / arrow key )

5 : open windows Paint Start > All programs > Accessories >Paint

6 : Go to Edit Menu > Past

7 . or Use short cut key CTRL V

8: now a desktop Image is appearing in paint

9 : now use SELECT Tool and select the small portion of whole screen image

10: Right Click on selected area and COPY or use CTRL C

11 : Then open New File CTL N or go File > NEW

12 : then use CTRL V or EDIT> Paste

12 now resize the White background area of paint equal to your crop image

13 : and save it in JPG file

You will see size of cropped image will be near about 5 to  20 kb
